Harry Potter Locations in London
There are many locations for Harry Potter fans to visit in London. J.K. Rowling based her muggle
world in London, so you can walk the streets that Harry and Hermione did or visit the sets that
Daniel and Emma acted in.
One of the biggest attractions in London is the Warner Bros Studio Tour where many of the sets and props from all the Harry Potter movies are kept. This tour lets you step inside Dumbledore’s office and walk in the Great Hall. It’s a full day of Harry Potter fun and you can even get yourself some real butterbeer.
Another great place to visit for any Harry Potter fans is the House of MinaLima. Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima are the graphic art designers of pretty much the entire Harry Potter movies. Their art gallery in Soho has everything from Harry’s wanted poster to the Weasley’s joke shop artwork. All of it was designed by the MinaLima team and they also have a few props from the movie in the gallery!
Kings Cross Station is another great spot as this is where the Hogwarts Express departs from during the movies! Now you’ll find a trolley disappearing in to the wall through platform 9 ¾ and a
great Harry Potter shop.
Charring Cross Road is home to the wizards favourite Leaky Cauldron Pub – obviously the gateway from the muggle world to wizarding world. Now, you’ll find some second-hand and antiquarianshops which make it feel as though you are about to enter Diagon Alley.
The Millennium Bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the themes in London, which gives great views of the city on either side. It’s a great place to visit in London. However, fans of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince would know it as the bridge that collapses during the start of the movie. Luckily, special effects made it collapse so you’re safe to walk across the bridge today!
If you want to see all of these places in one, there are Harry Potter movie walking tours available
which will walk you around some of the places I’ve already mentioned and more.
There are so many places for Harry Potter fans in London. You can visit Piccadilly Circus and see
where Ron, Harry and Hermione were rushing through London during The Deathly Hallows, or even visit the Reptile House at London Zoo where Daniel Radcliffe filmed some of his first scenes for Harry Potter.
Have you been to any of these places or do you plan on going? Let me know in the comments.
